Looking at this schematic:
http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/axisfuzz.gif

When the 2K "Drive" pot is being turned clockwise towards maximum distortion, is the wiper moving towards the NC end of the pot(which puts more resistance in parallel with the 0.1uF cap) or is it moving towards the other end, basically shunting around the 0.1uF cap and going to ground?  My guess is that the wiper's going to ground when in maximum distortion mode, am I right?

Also, it seems to me that I've read something in the past that the 220 ohm resistor that's in series with a 0.001uF cap in between Q1's collector and ground, might actually be a 220K resistor, which is true?  I guess some people even prefer to disconnect those two items entirely.  Would that make the pedal brighter and able to get more fizz/fuzz?

Any info on this would be a great help.

I'm believe the schematic is correct.

The 22uf passes all frequencies of interest between the feedback loop and ground, limited only by the 2k or less, if set to 0k, ground being AC Coupled from feedback loop to ground would lessen gain.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
