app-notes..
What is that  ???
I have the cookbook and other stuff...

I am not an engineer I paint by numbers :)........Was just interested in snippets that could be used??

I use a lot a snippets and add together circuits than fool around ,but by no means do I know how to design a scheme circuit..

"App-notes" = application notes.

Information about chips will come in a variety of forms, though almost always as a pdf file.  Sometimes it will be JUST the data and specs on the chip (i.e., tables of numerical information, pinouts, package information).  Sometimes there will be a sample "standard" circuit with that data, usually for testing purposes.  For instance, datasheets for audio-delay chips will have a single circuit shown.  Many audio power-amp chips will show a circuit using a bipolar power supply, another using a single-ended supply, and one more of each if the chip happens to be a stereo chip that can be bridged to mono.  Sometimes, there are a variety of sample circuits accompanying the data/specs whose intention is to show you what you can do with the chip.  This is obviously more likely to occur with a generic-use device (e.g., op-amp, OTA) than with a specific-use device like a delay chip.  Finally, once in a while you'll see a more detailed writeup that might have many examples of circuits, plus lots of information about optimum design with that device, and some advisories about what to expect when certain critical external components are changed in certain ways.

The boundaries between what counts as merely a datasheet, and when something turns into an app-note are a little fuzzy. But generally speaking, once the information provided crosses that fuzzy line between "What this is" and "What could you do with this?", you entered app-note territory.

The most foolproof way to find these things is to enter the number of the device and "pdf" into a search engine.  For instance, entering "SA571 pdf" into Google got me this: http://www.google.ca/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial_s&hl=en&q=SA571+pdf&meta=&btnG=Google+Search
At the very top you can see a link to a pdf document for the SA571 (= NE571) that walks the line between datasheet and application note.

Mark: Stephen seems to have the app-notes ("cookbook"  :icon_wink:),
but he wants to paint by numbers...

Stephen: in this case you`ll have to search for schemos that use the chip,
read the descriptions,
and observe what`s between the lines.

Oh well I looked at all of the pdf..well most of them!!

The scheme I have for the comprex is useable but was wondering what else.. sorry for the repost I will not let this go on any further Thanks for the help!
