Will this work for a CD input along with the guitar?

I'm sorry to chime in but I'm going to attempt something similar with the Cricket.  I've built the Mockman from runoffgrooves.com and I want to use the Cricket and house them in the same enclosure to simulate a headphone type Rockman.  I'm not sure if this will work either but hopefully when you get your answer it may apply to my situation too.

Yes, hopfully someone will let me know if this will work.
Dano12 has a very nice site, thanks for the design!

The CD player puts out a low impedance line level signal which is a big mismatch with the guitar. The JFET buffer makes these two signals much more similar. I would add the mixing after the JFET.

So the guitar only goes into the JFET, and then I would add the signal from the CD player
between the JFET and R2?
Thanks Peter.

Peter is right, the mismatch between the two signals will be problematic.

How about this: Lop off the entire JFET buffer and put this in front of C2 : a cool Mini Mixer from General Guitar Gadgets:

Thanks Dano12, I'll give that a shot.
Nice to have more than one input anyway.
