I'm going to be building an easy face for my first stompbox.  I was just wondering which types of caps and resistors you guys recommend me using??  Or are the differences even that noticable??  Thanks :icon_mrgreen:

The differences in a 9v stompbox are not that noticable.

edit: You could try some different types on the breadboard and pick which ones you like best.

Just build it and have fun.

Thanks for the info Doug!!! :icon_mrgreen:  I've got one more question!  I'm trying to build the Easy Face.  In Tonepad's part's list, it asks for a Ra 100-300 ohm resistor.  I've been searching and cannot find what this means.  Can anyone help me here???
Thanks
Joe

"Ra" is just the designation of a particular resistor, namely the one on the emitter of Q1.  You can choose a value in the range between 100 and 300 ohms for this resistor.

Ok, so it's not a certain "type" of resistor that is needed.  Q1 being the one on the left of the layout?

I can't get to tonepad right now, so I'm not sure which schem they used.

Here's a suggestion though- try the "pre-gain" and "pre-tone" controls Joe included in this version:

That would be everything between the input to the junction of the 10uf and 005uf caps on the Q1 base. The pre-tone control adds a lot of flexibility to this pedal. I still use mine a lot. It's a great sounding pedal.
