Yes.... I know there is like a trillon topic about this, but the search engine doesn't work for what I'm looking for... I want to do the Ultra MOD to my DS-1 but I can't find the schematic anywhere... All the links that are in previous post are broken!  >:(. Anyone has it??? please PM me!!

Thanks!!!!!!

check out Melanheads mods, Keeley worked out his mod so HE could do it... its not too complicated, but you have to know what you are doing..since I DIDN't know what I was doing, I bought the MOD book from Brian Wampler (wampcat1) from his Indyguitarist site... it has a ton of DS-1 mods...plus many other pedals... buying a ds-1..$39.99 + buying the mod book $25 = 64.99 still half the price of a Keeley Ds-1... I did one for a buddy and I loved it... with the toggle switchable diode arrays and such...even did the seeing eye...

I totally agree with $uperpuma. The Melanhead DS-1 mod SMOKES!!! the Keeley Ultra Mod. It uses two LED's for clipping just like the ultra except the actual tone of the pedal is WAY better. Try a 1N4002 and a 1n34a Germanium diode in the clipping section for an AWSOME SUSTAIN and cruch.

I made this guide for it:

It also has circuit bends, but I'm afraid it dosn't have a schematic.

I hope that helps!

In the thread with Melanhead's mods, I mentioned how you could apply those mods to Tonepad's DS-1 project and get the same result - although some of the component values are different due to the differences in the Tonepad "work-alike" - so you don't actually have to buy a DS-1. I put the mods on a Tonepad DS-1 build and it's awesome!

Geesh! ...  :icon_redface: ...

Thanks guys! ... I'd have to recommend my mod as well, but I'm a bit biased  :icon_mrgreen:

I plan in the next few days to cut my mod page down a bit, it is way longer than it needs to be :)

If you decide you want to do the Keeley, I had posted it with part numbers in Melanhead's above link. I called it "an extremely popular mod", but I think the cat is out of the bag ... it is the keeley.

I'm gonna go on record as saying I've done the Keeley Seeing Eye Mod and it's exceptionally tasty.  Whereas unlike some people, I've never been able to not get a good sound out of a stock DS-1; after modding, it was that much better.

Good luck!
