Short answer to a short question which need much more contextual info to make a 'legitimate'/ longer answer is...
The one that has the right amount of gain...what you, the amp, and the guitar like.
guitar, amp, speaker[s, how loud, how distorted, these are just some of the 'necessary tangibles' to consider when choosing a preamp type.
  Tube?
  Opamp?
  Discrete?
On a lark I'll say 'booster'...every booster that 'worked' had enough gain for my purposes, how much headroom your 'stuff' has...I *think you'd probably get enough gain to want to not use max with just about any booster, Jfet, Mosfet, Bipolar, Opamp or Tube.
Having the amp there to see what it does/doesn't do tells alot, more info can be had by actually boosting with a booster of some type to see what doesn't do.
*my thinking is of course based on very little 'contextual background' info...a little more [maybe even some back 'n forth feedback] would make a big difference for attaining more 'tangible' assistance.
