I'm new to the forum so I would first like to say Hello to all of you!

Great website and forum Aaron!

I build the easy face from tonepad.com and well...it doesn't work. I can't seem to manage to wire the input and output jacks. So I don't really know if it works or not. Could you point out a tutorial or an article where I can see how to directly connect the jacks without using the switch. Just directly through the circuit.

Thanks a bunch!

Wire the circuit input to the tip of a jack and the circuit output to the tip of another jack, then wire both jack sleeves to the circuit ground.

Here's a bunch of diagrams http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=172&Itemid=200 and I believe tonepad has a set of diagrams in their layouts section

Thanks for the quick reply. It's all clear now :)

It still doesn't work yet :) tho'

How important is pot wiring? I mean...are the leads that...important...is it like with transistors? CBE or smth like that?

Note that the parts of a phone jack are essentially stacked on top of each other and crimped together, with the lugs being like "tongues" off at the side that are bent upwards.  There is VERY little consistency across the industry as to the arrangement of those "tongues"/lugs, and often the only one you can easily identify by quick glance is the ground connection since it is the "layer" on top of the stack and the lug-to-chassis connection is plainly visible.

For the other lugs, often what you need to do is either use a continuity tester to establish which is where, or else visually follow the base of the jack contact down through the "plate" where it is held in the crimped area, over to the relevant lug.

If I had a dollar for every time I had mistakenly soldered a wire to the wrong lug over the years, I could probably afford to have my car's air conditioning fixed for this hot spell. :icon_sad:  Not only that, all the storage space taken up by postings here regarding "My batteries drained over night and I wasn't even plugged in.  What happened?" would be free and available. :icon_wink:

Thanks...Indeed...I have noticed...my jacks aren't like the ones I saw in pics arround the forum but you can plainly see the way they are...which is which. How about those Pots? Is it important how you connect the leads of those? Do they have an explicit order or something?
