that's what the guys at my local electronics shop told me to explain they don't stock it. Are those values so rare? Pity, I need them for my Green Ringer build....

Sorry for an admittedly boring post...

try the "Standard" online sources, but make sure you stock up on some other stuff, too, or the shipping won't quite balance out.  Mouser, jameco, and Small Bear are where I buy my parts and it's worth it.  Everything arrived promptly (Small Bear ships from Brooklyn, I live in Central California, I ordered monday and got the parts before friday) and the service is great!

Hook up multiple resistors in parallel/series if you can't get a specific value (4.7k + 1.5k or 1.2k in series = about 6.2k)

Or just go for the closest available value (160k -> 150k)

Torchy

They ARE standard values, on the E24 decade scale (as in 24 logarithmic steps on the decade scale).

I also couldn't find these values for a Green Ringer - I used a 150K for the 160K, and guessed that a 6K8 would be OK for a 6K2, since the values stated on the bands are not absolute.  Incidentally, my GR works perfectly with these values (thanks to Forum Member's Transistor knowledge...)

Thanks newfish. Will do this then.
