Would someone please take a look at Frank the Deluxe Tank at the bottom of this page

http://www.freewebs.com/jayp5150/picsandschematics.htm

and please let me know if this looks like it should even work.  My concerns are noted on the above site.  I put it together, but haven't started troubleshooting yet.  So far, very low output, and gatey sounding (need to go check voltages, etc. and go from there, just haven't had time).

Man, I need to get a breadboard.  I appreciate all the help--especially since I am anything but an EE.

Thanks ahead.

Featuritis...  :D

How'd you come to jam all those things into one circuit?  Looks interesting, though.

However, if a gated sound is the most noticeable thing, you've probably got a misbiased transistor (or ten) in there.  Check your voltages (like you said) and let us know what you have.

And yes, DO buy a breadboard.  You'll be so glad you did.

I was trying to improve the versatility of the first one I built--and I seem to get bored easily. :icon_biggrin:

As soon as I get back into the basement, I'll let you all know.  Thanks.

Try a bias resistor from collector to base of the second transistor.  Either that or replicate the divider bias from collector that the first transistor shows.

Hey, I got this up and running today.  Found two simple wiring mistakes.  Turns out that it has a few really useful tones to it.  Not quite what I had in mind, but still pretty good.  I'll try to get some soundclips soon.

Thanks for the input.
