I cant seem to find any round here. Anyone know of a common sub for 2n5087 for smallstone. Maybe a 2n3906?

isn't the 2n5087 a PNP "version" of the 2n5088?  Any PNP Medium-High Gain Transistor should work, No?  Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The 2N3906 will do.

The 2N5087 is a lower noise transistor than the 2N3906 and the 2N5087 has a higher gain if I remember well. But both will do the job.

2N4403 is another possibility - better noise and Hfe than 2N3906.

Should work, its roughly in the same area as a 2n3906 from what I can tell from the datasheet.

the BC559 or BC560 are the low noise versions of that series.

It looks like according to Mouser the cross reference is bc556b. Does this sound right?
