Hello, do you think that WIMA 20% tolerance are good for building a TS808 or should i chose smaller tolerance caps ??? ??? ???  ?
Do they affect sound quality?

Ge_Whiz

It's not easy (nor cheap) to find caps better than 20% tolerance. Go ahead.

WIMA is very nice quality. the tolerance shouldn't make a noticeable difference (at least, one not lost to tone controls and significant THD  ;))

what do you think about 10% tolerance green capacitors?

  Tight.

I'd use 'em all the time, if I got 'em, but I'm not that picky...or rich.
Tight...er than 20%, which I think will hit all targets close enough for TS work...I generally tweek anyway, opt for derivative, or something else.
For precision targetting, like say what...theremin, or something where even a small drift can throw things off, opting for tighter tolerances might be critical.
For the TS, hitting target cap values is kind of like hitting the side of a barn that can be moved with the Tone Control. You'll hit it every time using 20% caps...of course if the aim is way off to the right for some reason as 'you like to aim left' simply adjust the value of the cap [by say 50% -100%] that's not letting you hit to the far left.

Ok many thanks for your answers :D, let me explain better. TS schematic I've found needs 3 film caps.
I have WIMA 20% tolerance and Green caps versions of all three caps. Two of the last ones are 10 % and the other green cap (the one wich is 0,01uF) is 5 % tolerance. This cap has been desoldered from some PC speakers. As a newbie, I ask if the cap could have been damged. I am so repetitive because I don't know if the efficiency of desoldered components is closer enough to the brand new ones. What do you think about this?

Paul Perry (Frostwave)

It's unlikely for a desoldered cap to change value. It might be totally destroyed if you heated it too long, but I can't see it actually changing to another value.
What I'd do: build the unit using the cap & if the box sounds good, leave it there.

Next thing you'll see is people selling "sorted" capacitors, with a tolerance of +/- 0.1%, and which claim to make FX sound way better :D or 'chewy' or 'crunchy' or 'creamy' or 'buttery smooth' or 'lush' or 'vintage' or 'fat' or 'boutique' or 'rounded' or 'biting'.
Dont mind me  ;D

I hope so, I want to sound just like Jimi.  I think my caps are messing me all up.

P.S. That was a joke  :-\
Hi Paul.  Welcome.  We are all Stompboxaholics
