So I've heard you guys are the experts.  I'm the proud new owner of a POG, but there is one effect that I'd like to be able to achieve that is a bit difficult. Here's what I'm trying to accomplish. I want to be able to switch my POG on and off over and over again very quickly. With the current switch, it is pretty difficult because it requries quite a push to toggle between bypass and effect. I've thought of some possible ideas for solutions.

1) Modify the POG to have a different type of switch that's easy to push down.

2) Keep the POG on at all times and run it in a bypass loop or some kind of switching system with an easy-to-push-down switch

3) Somehow add a momentary switch (in addition to the current true byass switch) that connects to the POG that allows the effect to be heard only when my foot is pressing on the switch

Option 3 would be the coolest, but it seems like it would be the most difficult/impossible.  What can I do?  Any other ideas? Thanks!

You can purchase momentary DPDT stompswitches from Small Bear that will do #3.  Alternatively, I was always partial to the CD4016-based analog switches in the Craig Anderton books, because they would permit either latched OR unlatched (momentary) switching using a SPST with a status LED to boot.  The down side was the power requirements (bipolar), but an excellent contender for what you want to do.  I can't speak highly enough of "punch-in" momentary switching for riff-wise use of effects.

Given what a POG costs new, and how complicated it must be inside, I'd suggest doing all "modifications" externally to avoid damage.

Use the button above to research "stutter" and "bypass" pedals. Combining some of those ideas could result in an outboard pedal that does exactly what you are looking for. And, as with just about every topic that comes up on this board, your search will eventually lead you to reading at least  one thing at http://www.geofex.com.

A bypass box with a momentary switch would be 1) safer for that awesome-and-expensive pedal and 2) usable with anything else you felt like throwing into it.
