Replacement pots for a fuzz face

Does anybody know what pots will work for an old fuzz face? The Alpha pots I bought don't have a long enough threaded shaft for the thick die-cast case. It also has 3/8 diameter holes while the alphas are 5/16, though that's not such a big deal.

I'll take the lack of response as a no. But just in case...bump.

I got the ones I have from Small Bear. The threaded part of the shaft isn't long enough on them. They are about 1/4". The case is 1/4" thick.

A 500K long shaft pot (used in guitars) shouldn't be hard to find try any place that sells repair parts for guitars - the 1K in the long shaft is another story.  I did a quick look out there (very quick!) and zip, zilch, nada.

Unfortunately it's the 1k that's really shot. I actually already  have a couple 500k guitar pots. I searched some more today and still came up with nothing.

what i had to do was use JB weld to fill in the holes where the pot used to go, and then redrill it for the alpha pots.  You should still be able to get a alpha pot to work, I did.

Unless, you have one of those 70's fuzzfaces where the shells are really thick?

I have a few 25K/50K pots with 3/8" shaft bushing diameter (I think, I don't have calipers) and 3/8" length while the shaft itself is normal 1/4".  Don't know why I ever got them but I believe this is the place I got them - that cruddy b/w picture looks just like what I'm holding in my hand.  You might drop them a line to get some specs on it.

Thanks captntasty! That looks like just the thing I need. Too bad the 500k isn't audio taper but as mentioned earlier I can use a guitar pot.
