I just picked up a set of Leslie 60 speakers for my Wurly!
the controller kit is missing
here is the schematic I found online :  www.vintagevibe.com/misc/Leslie%20Speakers%20Console%20Connector%20Kit%207022%20Installation%20Instructions.pdf

,
anyway if some one could take a look at the schematic and please let me know what type of op amp I could use for it
the schematic only lists it as a I.C. op-amp
could I use a 4558 ??

also one pot is 500k CCW (is this a reverse log ??)

the other is 100k CW (is this an audio taper pot ??)

your help would be greatly appreciated

Thank You

The chip is a single op-amp.  The giveaways are as follows (for your future reference):
1) Power goes to pin 7 (that would be 8 on a dual)
2) Output is pin 6
3) there is a small compensating cap (33pf) between pins 1 and 8, which is where compensating caps always go on singles.

I honestly don't know what the original was, so I'm going to wing it and suggest a TL080.  This is a single bifet op-amp that has pins for a compensation cap between 1 and 8.  Specs on the chip are good and it should handle the 4.7M feedback resistance with ease.

Note that this is NOT the same chip as a TL071.

ok, more help please  :icon_rolleyes:
it seems to be a hard op-amp to locate

where can I find a TL080CPE4 ??? ???
I e-mailed small bear but am waiting on a reply

any suggestions ??

again thank you very much for your help

You can always just skip the 33pf compensating cap and use a TL071.  Sorry.  Should have just said that in the first place.  Didn't know getting a TL080 would be an issue.

so if I take out the 33pf cap I can just pop in the other one ???

I was thinking I was going to have to make my own preamp

again thanks Mark

dansamp

ok,
so here's an update for anyone who is interested
I received the opamp from digikey and popped it in and lo and behold it works !!!!!

thank you so much Mark !!!!

now I have to figure out why I only get sound out of one of the channels

I have narrowed it down to the space generator  here is the link to the servie manual : http://www.vintagevibe.com/misc/leslie%20Speaker%20System%20Models%2060_70.pdf

the signal goes into the space generator and gets split into a high and low signal

feeding each speaker powered by it's own amp

so you get stereo chorus/ vibrato I think it ends up being true pitch vibrato

I am not sure how to trace this out since I am not sure what I am looking for

by the way I think it is the same set up that was used in the Fender Rhodes MK V which sounds awesome !!

anyway if any one can help that would be great,.............. Mark ????
