some time ago i traced the schematic for an ibanez wh-10 dual pot wah.
now i have one with a crackling pot. it was only the 50K part of the pot so i replaced that with a 50k log taper. that's the closest thing to the original wich has a taper that doesn't do much until halfway and near the end it kinda stops again. now when i put the wah back together i could find a sweet spot but it seems it's only the sweet of one pot. my guess is the 500k because it sounds like the original sound but it seems to miss the upper/trebly half of the signal. it's there but its far away. on other places of the taper the wah sounds more like some kind of volumepedal.

now i guess i could put a trimpot in parallel or series with the 50k pot? any ideas?

easy enough to try, solder clips to 2 wires soldered to wiper and outside lug of pot, then you can clip variable series resistance right to the other pot or wherever...I keep a 'testclipped' 100k L pot like that handy.
