layout verification in the layout gallery

hey guys

i was wondering if there is any consensus on setting up a verification system for the veros and layouts in the layout gallery.

there are a huge numbers of errors in a lot of them.

i personally verify my own layouts and state verified on them so others dont waste their time. other people seem to make vero's and layouts without actually building them - and there are some popular ones known to be incorrect that stay up there - and people keep making these pedals that dont work.

maybe they are put there to throw people off course??

i now find the schems of things i want to build and personally verify any layouts i find before building them.. this kind of defeats the purpose of having a layout already done..

for those who are new to building pedals it can be very distressing (i know it happened to me when i was starting out a few years ago) when they spend a day building a pedal and it doesnt work becasue one or two of the nets are wrong - and they have bugger all chance of finding out what is wrong with it.

what about merging the layout gallery into the forum - and having a layout section - with different catagories for type of pedals? people can post a layout and then others can reply with whether they have trouble with it - or if it works?

or.. how about some sort of guideline put in place to state on the layout whether the layout has or has not been verified - and if so, by whom.

i think at the very least a notice should be put up on the layouts gallery that says "all layouts unverified unless specifically stated" - because people are presuming the layouts are technically correct - and i think this is a fair presumption for a newbie - why would anyone post an unverified layout/schematic in the layout gallery?

I can't speak for anyone else, but all of my layouts have comments stating if they are verified.  I have a couple which are unverified as far as a build goes, but node checked.  I seriously doubt though that anyone would post deliberately misleading/wrong layouts - that's not the way things work around here.

Which reminds me - I haven't posted a new layout in ages.  Lazy git!

I build all of mine and all of mine in the gallery are verified unless they are marked as "UNVERIFIED".
However, I did have a situation where I had corrected a layout, which I had corrected while building the circuit, yet posted the incorrect layout....
I can safely say now that if it's in my gallery, and isn't marked as unverified, I've personally built it and it works......for me.
