hey guys. Ive been lurkin and tinkerin for some time now thanks to the info on here. I managed to cram a 12ax7 inside my MT-2 tonight, and it does sound pretty sweet! theres like NO NOISE, but its got that tight tubey sound.

But i am used to this pedal being heavier (and colder and solid state sounding lol) and i was wondering if there was a way i could boost the signal coming to the clipping section (the tube is behaving as a clipping pair). Id rather not just add a diode in to give it more of a crunch, id rather the tube do most of the work, since im digging the sound OK

Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

i guess the stage before the tube is opamp? maybe use a parallel opamp for more "clean" power so you just overdrive the tube more?

He's right. You can piggyback two opamps and get a lot more clean power.

Im going to have to try that then, i thought the op amp is what did most of the distortion?

These op amps are all inline, so im going to have some fun playing with that.
