how exactly do you identify an LDR?  i have several things torn up in the workshop that could have them, and ive been looking at a few pedals that use the LED/LDR combo lately...

flat surface (sometimes encapsuled in glass or epoxy) with zig-zag lines on them. the have different shapes but allmost all of them look like this.
