I have wanted to build the Dist + for a while.  I have an old DOD 250 which I love but it's seen better days.  What better to replace it with than a D+. ( besides, Randy Rhoads whas the man,and if it was good enough for him, it's good enough forme)

I socketed the diodes and the input cap because they would be the two places on this circuit that I may want to make changes.

Now before Mr. Hammer gets to typing about the gain pot,( you are a truly tollerant man Mark)  I simply wired a 1M audio pot backwards and I get a pretty good range of gain.  I'll probably order the correct rev log taper from small bear when I need to place an order but this is working for me right now.

Here are my results.

.01 input cap seems right with my Les Paul, could be a little bright with a strat.

The 1n34 diodes sound great but the output has to be dimed for unity.

A combo of a 1n914 and a 1n34 sound good. real saturated but not buzzy, output level better.

2 1n914 and a 1n34 sound really good, Output level really good.  I may stick with this combo.

1 led and 1 914 sound very crunchy and thick but a little less saturated.

I will continue to experiment.  If anyone is looking for a good circuit, this is it.  this or the DOD 250 are very rewarding and pretty easy builds.
