I've got an older reissue Stereo Memory Man (hardwired power suply) that I snagged for a $100.  It worked for about two years before it went into a coma=

the bypassed setting--- guitar is muddy/muffled   ----------- the effected setting --- guitar is AWOL, and only a weird throbbing sound is heard with the switch (backpanel) on "echo"  and some weird feedback on "chorus".

It uses MN 3005 chip.

When I sent it in for repair, they said it "might be the chip", but he didn't have the chips on hand.

Can anyone tell me what they think the problem might be so I could fix it?
Or how about recommend a reputable repair guy in the Puget Sound area?  (It already went to Guitar Maniacs in Tacoma)
Should I give up and get a new one?

Thanks

sorry I cant help you cuz i bought mine used and non working and I have never heard any echo from it whatsoeva

Does the noise change when bypass? If the noise is present at all times then it is not the chip. chip is bypassed when switch is in bypas.

if everything fails contact me. I might be able to make it work or the least use it to make mine work, take parts from mine for yours. whateva.
I have a new working chip i am not using so I can test that on your unit. However, it souldnt affect the bypass.
