us analog-savvy chaps ain't too keen on digital products...as much as we make fun of mojo, we have a little 'analog-mojo' ourselves!  :icon_biggrin:

Talking about computer mice reminds me I've got some old computer joysticks kicking around (for a PCjr or an AT or something) - as far as I can tell, they're just two sets of pots tied to that thing . . . I've been meaning to see if I could use them for *something*.

Thanks for reminding me!

Sorry to interrupt.

BTW the expression pedals in the ART XR-15 midi pedalboard works like that - a piece of plastic with a series of black stripes and a sensor like in a computer mouse, it counts up/down (quadrature as John pointed out). When you turn the pedal on, you have to turn it all the way up/down so that it knows where to start counting :)

any chance we could get a stencil or something of the cuts in the plastic? that way ppl can start experimenting with the right leds/ldrs and whatnot.
