Ive searched so much and consumed so much of my data traffic already. I cannot find a clear guide to the basics of INput and output jack connections. I recently built the perf for The New CLipper by Runoffgroove.com, and i havent been able to make it work despite checking and rechecking. The Perfboard is ok, ive checked it all. The only thing that seems wrong are the connections of the jacks. Can anybody answer these questions for me??
1. Where do i connect the Input's sleeve??
2. Where do i connect the Output's sleeve??
3. Do i earth the negative potential i.e. connect to the input's ring??
4. Do i connect input and output sleeve together?
I had built a Litle Gem before and it works perfectly, this is my second build.

1,2, 4: the sleeves are both connected to ground (earth, or whatever you want to call it), if you're using a metal box you don't have to connect both of them as the box allready does that (though some people use the star-grounding technique, and isolate the output jack from the box and connect all grounds to the sleeve of input jack)

3: generally, you use a stereo input jack, and connect the negative side of the battery to the ring. So when you plug in a mono guitar cable, the ring is connected to ground and the battery is connected into the circuit.
Just like you said.

heres a nice bunch of diagrams of some ways you could wire things up: http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=172&Itemid=200

So my conclusions are:
1. I connect the input and output's sleeve together and connect them to the ground i.e. my input's ring
2. I connect the negative battery terminal to the ground too i.e. the input's ring.
Am i correct??

I think your questions were answered quiet thorough,
take some time to digest it.

Not completly, if you want the battery-switching arrangement, follow the diagram:
Negative battery terminal is connected to the ring.
Connect the input and output's sleeve together and connect them to the ground i.e. my input's SLEEVE.

If you want to make sure you're circuit is good, you could test it first, without the switch, led, DC jack.
input sleeve to bat.neg.
input tip to efx in
output efx to output tip
bat.pos to efx
