One of my sons broke one of these and I managed to see what was in the base. Two large npn transistors, around 10 caps, 4 inductors, 9 diodes inluding 8 1N4007s and around ten resistors. The transistors made a very good sounding fuzz face type circuit but they didn't have any numbers on them. They look like BD139s. There is a large inductor which looks like a transformer but only has contacts for the outer coil. Any ideas as to what I could use it for?

Just looked in another of these of a completely different make and the innards were very similar. Lots of caps/diodes/inductors and two big transistors,

I expect those things are yet another potential source of audio & RF interference. :icon_mad:
