Very nice sound and nice implementation.  Some extra possibilities are:
For variable fuzz, you could wire a 1 k pot as a variable resistor for R8 (like a fuzzface).
The feedback resistor R4 affects the "vintageness".  A 47k often works well.  Maybe even 33k? (which I haven't tried)
