i know there are a couple of people in here that have built one.  i am using the layout from ggg.  word on the street the layout is set up for ebc transistors, but the originals were ecb i think.

Word on the street????

Comparing the layout to the schematic, the layout has to be for EBC, by inspection.

Putting "2SC536 datasheet" into google turns up the datasheet on the first result, one layer down. Like almost all Japanese style TO-92s, they are ECB.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

If you breadboard it you'll find out what I found out that just about any Si transistor will do in this circuit. They really don't change the tone at all. I think I wound up using 2N5088's because these were the cheapest and I had a ton of these laying around.
