Hi guys,

was wondering if one of you has made a WHSPickle clone. I've built mine, sounds cool, but the tone knob surprized me. Like a good bmuff or a pickle, the tone knob gives a huge sweep of tones. From a early TBender (the buzzsaw, 2 knob, icepick one), to the girthiest big muff. My only possible problem is that, turning the pot to the low girthy side-the last 1/3 is pretty much un-usable. It is a total "blankets over the speakers" sound. not a little, a lot. I can still get the great low range by easing my way to the trebley side, until it's no blankets but still fat and ballsy. but it seems like Mr. Huge wouldn't have done it that way, so I'm wondering if maybe I messed up somewhere. I have a friend with one, but he's not available for a while, so I have nothing to A/B. I've went over it all for wrong resist/cap values, and the usual suspects. Have any of you built one? Is yours the same?

thanks in advance!

I haven't built the pickle, but it sounds like it suffers from the same mud as most other big muffs. Lower the input cap some and see if that don't help tighten 'er up some. If ya mess with the tonestack itself(and the insane mid notch) you won't really have a pickle anymore, just a modded muff.
I am not responsible for your imagination.
