Hello all, I am planning on changing the Op-Amps in my Boss GE-7 pedal and was wondering what everone recommends.  I heard that the TL072 and RC4559 are top notch.  My goal is to lessen the noise from the pedal and hopefully tighten up the sound a little.  Also, where is the best place to buy from?  I need them shipped to Canada.  Thanks!

tlo82, tlo72 are good low noise choices, and common as dirt. Might not eliminate the hiss though, but won't hurt. 4558 might actually be what's already in there!

The generic Hi-Fi dual opamp is the NE5532. that one was designed specifically for audio and has very low noise as well as super output drive. The downside is that they consume more current than a TL072. There are plenty more chips out there but  the 5532 should give you a taste of low noise.

As with all opamp experimentation, use machined sockets and try a couple of chips out.

For ordering to Canada, take a look at http://ca.digikey.com/ ;)

Thanks so much for the tip, I'm still debating on whether or not this will make a worthwhile difference.  :)
