Egnater ie4 all tube 7 12ax7 preamp.. anyone want a peek inside?

I have an Egnater all tube (not a transistor to be found) preamp. It is the pre Rocktron version made by Bruce E. himself.

I was wondering if is it o.k. for me to post a pic of the guts on this site? Is that something that might not be appropriate to do? I have spoken to Bruce and he has allways given me his time and answered my questions. I do not want to do anything that is unethical.

I would love to copy the second or third channel of this amp replacing the tubes with appropriate transistors.

Yes.  I think a good chunk of folks would like to see it.  Whether it is ethical or not is another question - I think that would be Bruce E.'s call.

Definitely interesting. I doubt someone will want to/be able to clone this thing commercially from just pictures, so this should (any law-savvy people jump in here) be okay.

IMHO his new modular preamp is way more exiting.

Egnater Forums

The hosting company we use to host these forums decided to change its database policies and configuration. Of course, this happened suddenly and hosed our boards. I am working to find a solution. You patience is appreciated.

Not that I would be able to build one but why not have a pic or two on here its nice to see what the big boys are doing and lets face it when was the last time you thought my god I need one of those from a schem?

The Rocktron made stuff is on printboard, the pre-Rocktron stuff is pure boutique, lots of handwiring, something on perfboard, something on printboard. Rocktron used cheaper parts, IMHO those amps sound horrible compared to the originals.

1st Channel is classic Fender BF, 2nd has a midboost for that voxy tone, 3rd is a very slightly modified JCM 800 preamp, 4th is a heavy modded JCM 800, like a Soldano, Bogner or Rectifier with a 5th stage, but with lots of filtering for that agressiv molten glass sound.
