Hello DIY'ers  :)

First off: I'm a completely newbie to DIY - and when I write "newbie" it's litterally true  :icon_biggrin: Bought the Lineal Booster kit from musikding.de long ago and still can't get it to work, that describes how new I am to this.

Anyway! I'm in need of a A/B/y box and decided to pick up the soldering iron again, can't be true that I cannot make my own looper pedal!

I've done a picture of how I want it to work out:

Output A will always be on, no matter what. (That goes to my clean amp)

Output B will be controlled by the switch. (Goes to my distorted amp)

The big question: how am I going to build this? Obviously I cannot read schematics, so if any of you would be kind and helpfull and actually draw the wiring for me, that'll make my day! Can this be done without a PCB or something like that? I don't know how to make such a thing :(

Thanks a lot in advcance!

Edit: I've been searching of course and found a lot of info about loopers, but this seems a bit "special" and different to some of the other looper-questions there's been on this forum :(

This should work just fine for your needs.

Ohh, thanks! That looks fairly simple and easy to build.

However, it dosn't seem to do exactly what I'm looking for. This one, when I step on the switch, I turn off the A loop and turn on the B loop.

The A/B pedal I want to build should have the A loop running all the time and I should be able to turn the B loop on/off when stepping on the switch.

Can the link you gave me be "modified" to my needs written above?

Thanks again!

For $25 you could buy a used Morley A/B/Y box.

hotwire the A output to the jack, and have a switch for the b output. but i think when both are engaged the signal would be cut in half.

As funkbass said just connect the A jack directly to the input. You'll only need a DPDT switch though since you'll only be switching jack B and the leds.

As skiraly said though you can find a used aby box, that will do what you want, for less than it costs to build one. In fact, I have one for sale on the gear page here: http://thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=152538&highlight=mcboost.

Damn, that's cheap  :o Not even worth the hazzle that would be making my own pedal!

I'm going on a one-week vacation in a few hours, so.. Antojado, I'm very interested in your morley pedal, you think you could put a hold on it for me untill I get back home? I'm using paypal myself, so the payment shouldn't be a problem :)

Thanks in advance!

Sure. Contact me when you get back. You can do it through the gear page or ebay as my username is the same there. Have a good vacation.

Ive got a question on the linked schematic,  how are the LED's powered? via 9V not listen or what? by the signal coming in/out?

Is this the link you were talking about?  the one in skiraly017's post?  Its powered by the dc jack on the side of the
box in the picture.
