Can this be done?  There is no mention of this in the manual.  Baslically, can one soure be plugged into the A return and another into the B return?  Can this be done without having anything plugged into the send jacks?

i think so, but you'd have to have something plugged into the main input for the pedal to turn on...
resistance is futile...

or you could open it up and hard-wire a short across the ring and sleeve of the input jack.  Then it will always be on if there is a power source

i don't know anything about the specifics of this circuit, but in general shorting the sleeve and ring together on the input jack will tell the unit "something's plugged in - turn on" if the input jack is a stereo jack.  sometimes it is a mono switched jack...  in that case you would just need to short whatever's being switched by the switched jack - probably the gnd connection to the power source

cheers

If I plug one source into the main input then one into the A loop input, this would solve it?

Here's what I'm really asking:  Can you plug a sound source into either of the return jacks and have the signal come out the main output?  This is with having nothing plugged into the sends.

I don't actually have access to one.  There is a store that's willing to bring it in for me, but I would be obligated to purchase it.  There have been a couple that have come up for sale in the local newspapers, but they have both sold before I have had a chance to see them.  I have posted this on another board and they have told me that what I am describing is definitely doable.  There is someone in France that says that the Boss manuals in Europe have a few more pages then the ones in  North America, including schematics!
