Rebote 2.5 problem

I recently built the Rebote 2.5 from the Tonepad site. It's still unhoused with bypass switch. It was working great and now nothing. In bypass mode I have sound, but nothing through the delay. I'v tried different batteries, checked the switch, looked for loose wiring, resolder all joints, have voltage at appropiate locations, flexed the board, wiggled wires, etc. I am going to use an audio probe tonight, but I think I might have a bad chip. Does this sound possible? I am a bit puzzled that it worked and now I have nothing. If I can't get anything figured out on this I was thinking about building the PT-80 from UStomp, any opinions out there?

check that your 9volts is making it through the circuit.  make sure the IC is recieving juice.  If I recall, the PT2399 IC uses 5v, which will be supplied through a regulator (7805).  If you plugged your IC in to 9v somehow, you could have fried it...

If you're getting a bypassed signal, then I would have to assume that your input and output jacks are grounded.  That being said, either a) your fx board is faulty in one of many ways, or b) your fx board is not reciveiving +9v, GND, in, or out connections properly.  Check that your switch is wired correctly and that nothing is accidentally shorted.  make sure that your 9v battery negative terminal is going to ground.

ranchak,  When you're having trouble debuging a project I know it can be frustrating.  But dropping the project to switch to a more complex project in the hopes that it will work the first time without any debuging is wishful thinking.  The Rebote does work but if it's built with errors it won't and niether will the PT-80.
Pin 12 of the PT2399 is the delay signal coming from the IC.  I used an audio probe to fix mine.  If you put an audio probe to pin 12 and set the delay knob for long delay and when you play guitar it should have a delayed signal.  If you hear a delayed guitar signal than the chip is working and your circuit is working up to that point.  That would mean you're almost there.  After that audio probe pin 14 to see if there's a direct signal coming out.  If you've got that then it won't take much to get it going from there.

Oldrocker, I was originally going to build the PT-80, but I wanted something that would fit into a smaller enclosure. I'm just puzzled at the fact that this effect worked and now out of the blue it quit working. I think either my chip shorted or something else simple. I have been very careful with component sizing and placing and my soldering after a few troubles with earlier projects. I will start debugging later today. I guess I need to start working on an order for Small Bear in case I need another chip.

I found my problem, the 1uF cap before the output was bad.  I replaced that and I'm back in business. Thanks guys for your support and help.
