best way to sand enclosures down? (sanding)

Lots of great info here.

For dealing with casting marks, you could use a large flat file to cut those down. This may not cause as many scratches as using sandpaper. But for leveling out the suface, getting rid of pits, sanding is the way to go.

For super gloss finishes, you can use a set of polishing cloths. Lots of elbow grease, but it will get you a mirror finish.
Finish off with Meguiars Mirror Glaze.

SteveB, We're mostly trying to stray away from elbow grease now since our elbows are killing us. But that's probably the way to get the best finish, hard to argue with that.
