I believe my next build is going to be ROG'S Condor cab simulator. I have done a bit of research and have seen many people use another circuit in conjunction with this the "sss" circuit short for speaker saturation simulator i believe...Anyways, my question.  Do most people simply build a condor in one enclosure and then run into another box containing the SSS circuit? How hard is the sss circuit to build? How does the condor/sss combo compare to a behringer 412 sim DI deal?

I've built the condor with the SSS placing it in front of this great cab sim. Others like MartyMart have done this too with very good result. I've tried both way and it's definitively more natural and useful this way : sss->condor.
About the condor i've built a notch switch with 3 positions : fender/intermediate/Marshall. The intermediate is very useful and really well balanced (1n5+10n). Worth it !
With a bass/treble control with other switch I don't know a better cab sim around, really.

Same box

You can use 1n34a instead of 1n60 but I prefer the 1n60, it's more subtle... (but please don't expect big change with SSS it is a subtle effect but truly great with overdrive boxes or basses).

The perfboard layout for the speaker saturation simulator is different than the circuit trace by STM .

Seems the saturation is wired different. 1 lug is grounded when in the perfboard schematic Saturation is between the Opamp and the level with the diodes comming off 1. I built a stereo version of the STM layout using the other side of the dual opamp.
Using 1n34a and a Ti4558p chip. Sound real nice.

Whats up with the different saturation wiring???

I have my Condor and SSS wired Condor --> SSS as this seemed to make semse to me ?
( speaker crunch being the last thing in the chain )
Sounds great and the SSS can be backed right off 'till it has zero effect or driven quite hard
which causes some compression/breakup.
This pair really adds to an amp sim, I use it a lot on my sound samples and have recorded some
fine sounding guitars with it.
May be wise to keep the position variable, so you can run them "either way around" ?

Haven't tried the SSS before the condor yet. But together they sound close to an amp speaker and amazing with amp sim. very true.

I was mainly wondering about the different 10K saturation pot wiring. In the perfboard the saturation pot is wired differently than the actual circuit trace..

The diode chain the circuit drawing is off the lug 1 of the saturation pot. The perfboard layout has the saturation lug 1 to ground.  Does this make a diffence ?

I used the circuit trace version and hand drew it onto copper.

This is going a bit further with it, but if you're feeding it straight into a digital interface, some analog tape compression might be nice...

That might be interesting to splice onto the end.
