Haha stupid me... The gain pot was acting like a variable resistor and I connected lugs 2 and 3 instead of 1 and 2...  ::)

Ok final pictures!

SWEET!  I just finished playing with the final product and its still just as awsome!  The boost adds some much more to the pedal.  I have set the boost so that its not any louder when I kick it in so that I can get a compressed overdriven sound with both of them together.  And it overdrives tubes very easily by itself or with the compressor.  Then the compressor's "compressor" control doesnt even act as in how much compression.  Both sides have similar amounts of compression, but a bit different.  Maybe its like a sensitivity control.

So anyway, this thing is a must (both of these) for blues, jazz, and some funk.  Its pretty fun to play around with pickups and settings, and you can get everything out of this.  Sound clips soon (school starts back tomarrow  :'( ).

Nice lookin build there! For future reference, to correct a reverse-wired pot you gotta do the full mirror image thing, not just switch 2 wires... but I guess you just figured that out. The key phrase being- you figured it out! Congrads! 2 questions though... (just curious) Why the toggle switch for power? Also, does the LED indicate either, one, or just power?

I had in my mind that what I did to fix the pot was the problem, but I didnt think it would really matter... But anyway...

1. I use a toggle switch for power because I hate having to unplug the input after each use, and having to remember to do it.  It just seems easier and all.
2. The LED indicates power throughout the circuit without any change in sound.

Ok, That makes sense! Yeah, I hate having to do that too, but the real reason for me is all the hunching over to fiddle with stuff on the floor. This begins to mean something as the aging process kicks in... but anyway, from my perspective it won't make much difference if I flick switches or unplug things, it's still some old fart monkeying with a pile of junk on the floor(plumber's crack). That's the real reason I prefer power supplies...

Final sound clips!

Marshall BluesBreaker on the left (most of the time its not on) and then the Compressor/Boost box to the right.  In that Comp/Boost box, the So Simple Compressor is on the left (left switch, then sensitivity control on top left and volume control on bottom left), and the Sparkle Boost is on the right (right switch, then volume control on bottom right and gain control on top right).

Nice!
Sounds cool! 8)
Ya know, I LOVE the video clips you're doing.....reminds me of the ZVEX site and the demos there!!

KerryF

haha thanks!  I like video clips more too because then the people can see the settings and when you turn it on and off and all that.  But I LOVE the Zvex video clips.  They are awsome to watch  ;D
