Tried this too.  Bypassing the pre works very well, but I found with dr. boogey (maybe mine isn't working perfectly?) it sounded a little thin.  Other pedals (the english chanel) seemed a bit true-er to their original form.  I've only been able to test at low volumes though, and this is decieving I think.  When I go to the rehearsal studio with it on thursday I'll try both ways, and have a better idea.

btw, just picked up the value pack of resisters/caps from sure-electronics on ebay.  pretty good deal for all those pieces.  They charge a low price for the pieces, and make up for it in shipping (could be perceived as being deceptive, but I don't think it is). Nice stuff.

Ok, good to know about the return.

Out of curiousity, did you put the "Miller" caps in your Dr. Boogie?

I did install the miller caps.  A big difference.

Also, after I wrote this yesterday, I went back and checked my cap values.  I found a few in the last tone stack that I substituted, and a few values I got just plain wrong.  I replaced them, and it sounded much better again.  This is really shaping up.  Can't wait until thursday.
