Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum, and very new to modifying pedals.

This week, I was comparing my LBM and my Russian BM and I was suprised to note
the volume difference. When you A/B the pedals at the same settings, the Russian BM
is very quiet compared to the LBM.

I started roaming around the web, and found a bunch of mods here:

http://www.student.ru.nl/r.kerkhof/Taas/Mods/Big%20Muff.htm

I did the emitter mod, and I noticed some minor changes in sound, but nothing drastic.
It seems a bit spittier and there's a little more air.

Now I'm wondering if I could do anything fairly simple to increase the output?

Thanks in advance.

i can safely say that the big muff and tubescreamer mod discussions have been beaten to death here. use the search button, with patience...
no longer the battle of midway...(i left that band)...

i hate signatures with gear lists/crap for sale....

i am a wah pervert...ask away...

Welcome, and, yes. Real easy mod- just remove one or both of diode pair 1.  It'll significantly change the sound too though... Also, you can bypass the tonestack.

Frankly, there should be more than enough gain stock... I wonder if the trannies are all oriented right way round?

Sorry. I did do a search, but I didn't see anything specifically
dealing with volume.

There is a lot of gain on tap. I guess they just have different
sweeps. With all knobs at 12 0'clock, the Russian was way quieter
than the LBM. It catches up at around 2 or 3 o'clock.

No big deal. I think I'm probably better off waiting and doing
a full mod, like the creamy dreamer.

Thanks again.

OH! It sounds like the Russian has a linear taper pot, and the other one has an audio, that's all.
