Kay Tremolo

For people who have assembled a Kay Tremolo:

Have you noticed this circuit cutting out a lot of treble?  Is this normal?  Will that type of thing vary with transistor types?

I haven't noticed the loss of high end but maybe I wasn't listening close enough.  Mine has a little distortion at higher depth settings.  I only use my Kay trem when I'm using a distortion along with it, otherwise I'll use my DIY Pulsar for clean guitar stuff.
Did you add the 100K depth pot?  Since I added the extra depth pot makes me think that's why I have the distortion problem but I'm not sure.
