so, i currently own 2 production ts9's. one has had nearly every mod in the book done to it short of tb and anything requiring an extra switch. It sounds kickass. my other one has seen a lot more road in it's time, and nowi'm having some issues. the only mod it has ever had is a blue LED, otherwise it is completely stock. it seems now that my gain pot controls the level and gain simultaneously, and the level pot just adds a bit more gain, but not a whole lot. also, the pedal sucks my volume down by about 25% even in bypass. neither of these problems am i familiar with solving in this pedal. i even have the ts-9 service manual, but it is less than helpful in this case (if anyone wants a copy, pm me with an email addy).

any thoughts as to what could cause this? bad opamp maybe?

Melanhead

I had a similar problem with a friends ts9 and it turned out that a solder lug of the pots (gain or volume, i can't remember) was grounding out to the side of the case ... The pot had turned around inside the pedal.

You may wanna check this first ....

I really doubt it would work at all with a bad opamp. I'd check what Melanhead suggested, and if that ain't it I'd be on those electrolytics...
