Mosfet booster Question

Hi, I needed a one knob clean preamp then someone suggest me to built the AMZ Mosfet booster. It is a very good booster. But i think i need a tone control. Can i just simply put a marshall tonestack before the output ? do i need a gain recovery or should i consider the ggg Fat booster ?

If you wouldnt mind building another booster, we've all being hearing great things about the omega booster at ROG...

Otherwise try a search for the stupidly wonderful tone control... its simple to implement to any circuit...

Yeah.  This booster has a good output, but I don't think it's enough for a full tone stack.  I'd suggest a simple low-pass type tone control.  Hook up the circuit output to lug 3 of a pot (10K-100K or so) and hook lug 2 to a cap (.1-.33 uf or so) and the other leg of the cap to ground.  This will allow you to roll off the high frequencies.

  Other than on my amp, I have a few of this type of tone control sprinkled around my PB, I need another on the FF really, have one on the DIST+, another on Mosfet gain stage.  I find this type nice enough for my needs, in combination with carefully chosen or switchable input caps, the bass and treble amounts can be tuned to my liking...If I want a mid scoop or more control like that I use an EQ.

The tone controls already suggested though should be more than good enough!

Of course, backing the tone down on the guitar can help a bit too!

Speaking of that, I just got a fallen angel and put a new pickup in my PRS (a dimarzio super distortion p90) and the tone i way too high... my knob is right down to 2 or 3 all the time... its well weird...

I've said it before and I'll say it again- Tonemender from Runoffgroove. The best clean boost with a killer tone stack.

Actually i want to have a full controll over the mid freq. is there any simple way to implement this ? thanks

  Notch Filter.
  From SuperFuzz.
  IIRC it's the ground connection of the notch filter which can have a pot for amount of notch instead of just a switch.
  That and playing with the values should notch out the midranges you don't want in.
  Somewhere, probably in layouts, is a notch filter lifted from SF  and modded.

I have seen the Tonemender, i think it is preety good. Would it give enough output to act as a clean preamp ? does having an OPA2134 would give a nice result  ? Thanks
