Parallel Universe gives clean bypassed sound

Just built a parallel universe on stripboard. I only get a clean bypassed sound, even when i remove the battery from the snap. The Tone pot works as a level pot and the level pot does the job of decreasing the bass as i turn it around. i dunno wot to do. i dont even have a DMM. When i use audio probe at the 3rd leg of the LM386, the bypassed sound gets amplified.
