i am putting an amp head together, and there are two choices to connect the transformer:  100/220 and 120/240.  i am pretty sure this is so the same amp can be used in Europe and the US, but i am not sure which one is which.  so, being in the United States, which one should i use?
thanks

wire it for 120 volts, for heavens sake.!!-And donĀ“t hurt yourself.

PLEASE get some on-the-scene advice and help with that. If you don't know what the AC line voltage is, you are most unlikely to know how to wire it safely.

Please get help with it. We need all of the -living- effects makers we can keep.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

i did, my dad clarified it was 120.
it wasnt actually 'wiring' tho, just plugging the socket into the right set of holes

If you don't know something as simple as what voltage the wall puts out, I'd recommend some reading before you go play around with any high voltage stuff.
