Building up an LPB and ordered .1 mF caps instead of .1 uF caps. I freaking hate electronics.  :icon_lol:

Will they work? Will they sound good? Someone say yes and save me a trip to Radio Shack. :icon_mrgreen:

It'll work but sound very thin and weedy !

There was a thread very recently about that smallbear marks their uF as mF. Where did you order?

0.1 millifarad is most often marked 100uF and its electrolytic. It's very difficult to mistakenly buy a 100uF cap instead of a measly 0.1uF.

I ordered from Small Bear. Does that mean they're actually the correct value? I'm going to have to go double-read that post.  :icon_lol:

Doing some digging shows that...

uF and mF are the same?  ??? Quoth the Nelson "mF is uF."  :icon_lol:

I wired it up and it works fine... except the switch is screwed up.  :icon_confused: Lameness.

Lessone learned: Don't cheap out on the switch.

That's cool, sorry about the switch ... for mf I read nf ! so thought it was a 1n cap ! ( 1000pf )
My bad !!   as I never use the term "mf" I was a bit confused  :icon_redface:

old caps were sometimes marked 0,1MFD and these are 0,1uF/100n

I found a couple of really good switches in my tool box I didn't know I had. Double score. Wired it up and it works perfect. It's not as trebly as I thought it would be, which is a bit of a plus. The bass boost was an excellent surprise. It makes my Valve Jr. sound less like a weedy midrange machine.

The boned switch is a bit of a question mark. I get no signal at all between the two center lugs unless the switch is depressed, but even then I'm reading nearly 4 Mohms of resistance!  ??? Haven't seen that one before.

Next stop, some kind of compressor on the way to Ratville.
