A friend says his CP-9 compressor is too bright. Other than that he likes it just fine.  This seems to be a common complaint with a lot of compressors.
Did a search here and Keeso says putting  a small cap, .001 mF or so in parallel with R48, helped him.  Dirk Hendrik traced out  the schematic for this pedal, sorry don't know how to link it, it's in this forum.  He will do mods to improve the bass in this pedal, but my friend doesn't like the pedal well enough to ship from the U.S. to the Netherlands for work.
Any other ideas here?
Sure appreciate the help I've gotten with pedals repairs and mods here!

Maybe you can figure out a way to tack or clip a small cap, .001 mF or so in parallel with R48.
"Bright' makes me think not enough LP Filtering or too much high end, which is an easy fix, cap from signal path [near output?] to ground.
too much bass? it may be possible to easily add a cap to the circuit input lug of the stompswitch to add or create to HP filter/cut bass.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Had my mind in the wrong place. :icon_redface: The cap in parallel with R48 will increase treble, according to Keeso.  I am looking for more bass.
Any ideas out there?

From memory the coupling caps in the input buffer of the CP-9 are very low.  You could beef them up a bit to allow some more bass into the signal.

Interesting....
Usually the complaint about Comps is not bright enough.
Cap changes could work -or- maybe just a bit of CCW motion on the tone control of the guitar has been known to do wonders for curing a problem with "brightness".  ;D
