I´m seeking for insider. My local supplier offers closest JFET type BF245A, it has very wide Vp, opposite 2N5457 which Vp should be: average-1.58V (spanning from -1.22 to -1.80). It´s decisive value in OS circuit? Otherwise, properly picked BF245A should be right substituted? Thanks for any reply.

Variations in FETs is why the OS has that trimpot.  I think you should be fine with BF245.  Maybe not "perfect", but fine.

Thanks Mark, for your replies, if compression ratio would be guidable by this 10K trimpot, no depend on JFET type, I´ll be happy.
