Hello!
I have been trying to get the amz mosfet booster (tonepad layout) to work for hours now.  Signal passes through but there is a decrease in volume, not a boost.   turning the 5k pot clockwise decreases the volume (strange)- at its highest volume it is still lower than the bypasses signal.
Do these voltages look right?
v=10.03
d=4.69
g=3.94
s=4.69
vr=5.99
"point a"=5.50
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks yall

  First thing that sticks out is the D and S voltages are the same, check for a short between D/S.

crap, i messed up
s=5.21
g=3.94
d=4.69
sorry

s=5.21   high voltage, there should be a small resistorance to ground?
g=3.94
d=4.69
  of 10.03, somehow the drain came out in the ballpark..
  Measure every resistors resistance, start from ground, V+, compare measurements with schematic.
  Pick a 'distant' ground point, like an offboard ground wire, test all ground points.

The gate should be about 2v higher than the source.   You have something placed wrong.

Did you check the transistor pin config?  This is the most common error.

I double checked the transitor pinout and it is correct.  Could it be a bad resistor? possibly the 10m?

I'm actually having the same problem with mine right now.  Are you using a BS170 from small bear?  I've found plenty of BS170 datasheets, but I don't know which company makes the one I have.  Very frustrating...

Pinout could be an issue.
All of the BS170's I have are SGD.
