Dyna Comp Build Problems...need help.

Hello All,
I am fairly new to DIYstompboxes.  A couple of weeks ago, I built a clone of an MXR script Dyna Comp.  It worked great, until a couple of days ago when I plugged in the AC adapter with the wrong polarity (reversible polarity tip adapter)    When I opened the box, I smelled the sent of burning electronic parts.  How do I figure out which component I destroyed w/o unsoldering everything??  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What layout and schematic did you use?

Well, if there's a protection diode, it's fried.....from there we'd need more info.
