Newb- Help putting 2 pedals into one enclosure.

Hi,
I have been confused from when some people have told me (other forums) on how to rehouse 2 different pedals into 1 enclosure.
Can someone explain to me if I remove the in jack and there is a battery attached to that where do I connect the wire going to the clip that was on the jack(I  just want 9v adaptor power). Is there any diagrams of doing this any wear?

The black wire from the jack to the battery is to switch off the battery when the guitar lead is unplugged.
If you're only going to be using a DC adaptor just attach it to ground somewhere. Or you could probably completely remove the battery clip.
