I found an old Vox V847  i use to use lying around the other day so I decided to modify it. For the Q mod I installed a 100K pot so it could be adjustable. However, when I played it i couldn't really tell much of a difference. I measured the resistance while rotating the pot and it only goes for 0 to 30.1. That doesn't seem right to me. Am I doing something wrong? I have the pot hooked up to where the 33K resistor would be and i have it wired to the outer lugs of the pot. Is it hooked up right? Thanks

you can't really measure the resistance while it hooked up in the circuit because the multimeter sees the inductor as just a long bit of wire that has a resistance somewhere around 10ohms, so you're basically measuring the parallel resistance of 10ohms and you're potentiometer

That's what i kind of figured. Ok so does the Q mod make much of a difference? Also, am I hooking it up right? Also, I read somewhere that if the inductor didn'y measure right in volue I could run some resistors in series with it to bring up the correct value. Thanks
