Just thought id ask some experienced pedal builders who have an arsenal of pedals built what you think of these? Are they el cheapo alright for bedroom practice pedals like behringer etc or can you get some nice tones out of them? More accurately the fab chorus  and pepperoni phaser.I have the time to build some dist pedals but more complex things like the small tone, ross phaser i dont have much time to build. What would you rate them compared to many known chorus and phaser pedals kicking about here

The pepperoni is a Phase90 knockoff. I don't have the chorus, but I've heard it and it's pretty dern good. Frankly, they are indeed capable of great tone! Low noise in spite of the plastic too.

There's a 'Phase 90 and 'FTM available in the Dano Line, 'sounds just like' is what I've re-read.
It's all features choices, and many are *subjective.
 'Features':
 *Great sound
Signal path switching uses Jfets, actuator Sw.
*reliability..probably improves greatly when all connectors are prevented from being jerked and yanked on...the pedals are light, I don't have experience with Dan-O exactly, but suspect the 'wire>plug>jack>PCB traces' are a possible stress point for PCB trace failure...take it easy and the connections should be fine. {I have had experiences with 'pedals of type' having PCB traces ripped and torn by cable stresses, not the Dan-O's, I'd read reviews to better judge reliability features}.
 Lightweight, compact.
 modding probably has great limitations.
$, comparitively, a 'stamped out PCB w/jacks on it' effect Vs. 'PCB with wired jacks' type effect is something like <.4 to 1. You can buy about two or three 'littles' to one 'metal case' type.
main difference being metal case types have metal case/jacks>flexible wires, not certain what the track records are on the bypass actuator switches..probably pretty good?
Makes sense to me, just stamp 'em out', then stamp out a PB to stabilize the connections, from a cost/performance angle, a pretty good method.
So... the circuits are *good, the construction is 'different'...as in take it easy on the jacks while stabilizing the connectors..the short term and long term reliability will improve and be good.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

The Danos tend to use tried and true time-tested designs.  The corners that are cut to bring down the price are in terms of packaging, pots, and use of production techniques that are time-saving (hence money-saving).  Additionally, because of their small size and light weight, product-packaging and shipping costs are reduced.  All of these factors cooperate to make a pedal that is cheaper for the consumer.  Inside, and underneath all that stuff, though, is a decent product.

I have to say from what I've seen, read and experienced with Dano pedals, they're quite alright.
You can't knock the pricetag.  ;)

In another forum, someone complained that one stomp, and they were toast.  This person had broke 2 in as many days!

Just how hard do you need to stamp on a pedal for it to turn on!?

I love danelectro!  I cant wait for the danelectro pro reissue.
Try a little tenderness.

the fab chorus is my favorite chorus, to date. ive built the CE-2 clone, had a ce-1, had a small clone, and have a ibanez DCF chorus/flanger...(which lately has been giving me problems....eating batteries upon entry)...and the 15 dollar spaceship is STILL my favorite....

does anyone know where i can find those pretty blue LEDs as used on the chorus? not the water clear ones....

no longer the battle of midway...(i left that band)...

i hate signatures with gear lists/crap for sale....

i am a wah pervert...ask away...

Well i think ill give them a bash and order them,if im dissapointed atleast it wont have burned a hole in my wallet.(Been dissapointed with the 4 behringer pedals i bought)  :icon_cry: Cheers for the input guys.

yeah, behringer has yet to impress me...when them clones come out, if they havent allready, ill be giving a couple a try...otherwise, danelectros are the best money can buy, under 20 dollars, in my opinion...

which reminds me, i need to buy the flanger again...
