yes, the gods have forsaken me...

yesterday i was asking this furom about my 2SA201's. i assembled it and when tested the sound was very gated and the distortion ws harsh...

well, i mean, its very gated, like you need to strike the strings hard to make it sound.

i tried replacing the input coupling cap but no change.
Look at it this way- everyone rags on air guitar here because everyone can play guitar.  If we were on a lawn mower forum, air guitar would be okay and they would ridicule air mowing.

two things likely at this point

- transistor or both transistors in backwards

-bias problem- what are your voltages at EBC of both trannies?
my life is a tribute to the the great men and women who held this country together when the world was in trouble. my debt cannot be repaid, but i will do my best.

Check out the Debugging Thread, be complete about the information you include.
What type of transistors are you using?
 What is the circuit?
there are various FF's, all quite specific about polarities 'n suchs that, post a link to 1 chosen FF schematic, include transistor info [NPN or PNP]..
yes, the gods have forsaken me...
OT, how many did you count?

Without the transistor type and the circuit schematic, voltages of supply and active pins, it's hard to be of any real help.
Brief transistor descriptions also [PNP or NPN..]

Are those germanium or silicon?
